What's Ladder-Only in D2R Season 15?
Updated for Patch 3.3 and Season 15
What you can get depends on two things, not one: the mode you play, and whether you own the Reign of the Warlock expansion. Pick both below and every restricted runeword, unique and set item resolves to your setup.
The tables are read directly from the game files, including the base-game tables that ship alongside the expansion’s.
- 8 runewords are Ladder-only on Diablo II: Resurrected but craftable in Non-Ladder if you own Reign of the Warlock.
- 11 uniques and set items were updated by Patch 3.3 and exist in two versions: the updated one is Ladder-only on the expansion, while the original still drops on the base game.
Mosaic is the only runeword that cannot be made on Ladder at all, in either version.

Ladder-Only and Expansion-Only Items
11 items below exist in two versions, one in each game. Those rows are marked updated version and describe the Reign of the Warlock one, which is why their Diablo II: Resurrected columns are empty, since that version was never added there. The original still drops on the base game with its old stats, so the counts above do not move.

When Each Item Became Non-Ladder
Ladder status often moves with a new patch, so this page is re-checked at every patch and every ladder reset.
Season 15 · 21 August 2026
Eight runewords leave Ladder-only, but only for RotW
Eight runewords stopped being Ladder-only, and the game files apply that change to Reign of the Warlock alone. Their season window now closes at Season 14 in the expansion files, while the base-game files still leave it open, so on Diablo II: Resurrected without the expansion all eight remain Ladder-locked, and a Non-Ladder character there still gets a plain gemmed item.
The same patch changed nine unique items and the Angelic Raiment set in the expansion, and made those updated versions Ladder-only for Season 15. The originals are untouched on the base game and keep dropping there with their old stats, which is why the availability tables list the updated versions separately.
Season 13
Mosaic becomes Non-Ladder only
Mosaic Runeword has been disabled for Ladder Season 13, which is intentional to prevent graphics issues which can lead to crashes.
It can still be crafted offline, in non-ladder play.
Reign of the Warlock arrives, and Hustle is split in two
The expansion added five runewords, thirty unique items and eight set items across two new sets, Bane’s Garments and Horazon’s Splendor. None of them is Ladder-restricted, they need the expansion, not the ladder, which is the distinction people most often get wrong.
Hustle was retired as a name and split by base type into Mania for weapons and Hysteria for body armor. Both use the same runes at the same level, and existing Hustle body armors were renamed on update.
The Ladder-only helm set arrives; sunder charms open up
Six helm runewords were introduced as Ladder-only alongside Mosaic and Hustle, opening the season window that Patch 3.3 finally closed for expansion owners.
The same patch ended the ladder exclusivity of sundering charms, which now drop in every non-Classic mode. No charm carries a ladder restriction in the current game files.
The first new runewords in a decade, Ladder-only for two seasons
Seven runewords arrived restricted to Ladder for Seasons 1 and 2. Their window has long since closed, and the game files show it: the restriction lifted on its own once the end season passed, with no patch needed to remove it. That is the same mechanism now counting down for everything else on this page.
