Where to Find Diablo Clone and How to Beat

What is Diablo Clone

player about to fight the Countess
The Diablo Clone, also referred to as Uber Diablo, is the boss of The World Event introduced in patch 1.10. In Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, this was battle.net only event triggered by selling a certain amount of Stones of Jordan to vendors. In Diablo 2: Resurrected Patch 2.4, this event was revamped and was made much more accessible to all players. This article will expand on the D2R version of this event.

How to Spawn

The Diablo Clone World Event is triggered by selling a variable amount of Stones of Jordan (SoJ) to vendors like Akara or Charsi. The amount of rings sold is tracked on a server level, where there is a distinction between the three geographical regions, ladder and non-ladder, and softcore and hardcore. This means there are 12 different trackers. Technically there is also a non-expansion tracker for each of those, but this event will not grant you any loot because charms only drop in expansion games.

Between 75 and 125 SoJ's need to be sold to spawn the Diablo Clone. When the threshold is reached, the message Diablo has invaded Sanctuary will appear, the screen wil shake, and the weather will turn dark. The Diablo Clone will only spawn in a Hell game which was created before the threshold was reached. Uber Diablo will spawn in the place of the first Super Unique monster you encounter, for example, Rakanishu or Eldritch. This means that you can pick your battle field and fight him almost anywhere you want.

Diablo Clone Tracker

The Diablo Clone progress is tracked in 6 stages:
  • Terror gazes upon Sanctuary
  • Terror approaches Sanctuary
  • Terror begins to form within Sanctuary
  • Terror spreads across Sanctuary
  • Terror is about to be unleashed upon Sanctuary
  • Diablo has invaded Sanctuary

To get the current DClone status of the server you are on, you can type /uberdiablo to show which stage the server has. When you are not in game, you can use this Diablo Clone Tracker to see what other players have reported.

How to Fight Diablo Clone

Fight Mechanics

player about to fight the Countess
Uber Diablo mainly uses the same attacks as normal Diablo with the addition of Armageddon. Compared to normal Diablo, his attacks, defences, and life pool are drastically increased.

Diablo's attacks are mainly Fire and Lightning based, or Physical. Good Fire, Lightning, and Physical resistance is therefore a must. On top of that, Diablo can freeze you wth his Cold Touch, so a source of Cannot be Frozen is very handy, especially for melee characters.

On the defence part, DC has very high elemental resistances (95%), so without any reduced resistance, it is almost impossible to bet him with elemental damage. On top of that, he regenerates his health at a staggering rate of 1.2% per second, wit a total life pool of 642,700, this amounts to more than 7k life regeneration per second. It is possible to counter this with Prevent Monster Heal, so it is essential to have this property on your gear. Casters can also use this, but have to physically hit him with a weapon for it to work.

Annihulus Charm

After defeating the Diablo Clone, he will always drop the coveted Annihulus Charm. He will only drop one, even if you kill him with multiple players.
