Goreshovel is a normal unique Broad Axe found in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Goreshovel has a Dark Purple tint.

Goreshovel is one of the strongest levelling weapons in the game for its bracket. The +25 to Strength is the reason. A character earns five stat points per level, so the axe is worth five levels of allocation on its own and unlocks armor and shields several tiers above what level 14 otherwise reaches. The 60% Chance of Open Wounds is the second reason, dealing damage over time that scales with character level and stops the target regenerating.

The 40-50% Enhanced Damage is unremarkable and the Broad Axe is two-handed, so this is a weapon that wins through its modifiers rather than its damage. The 30% Increased Attack Speed keeps the Open Wounds applying often enough for that to work.

How to upgrade Goreshovel

You can upgrade Goreshovel to a Bearded Axe with the following cube recipe:

1 Ral Rune + 1 Sol Rune + 1 Perfect Emerald + Goreshovel

When upgrading Goreshovel to a Bearded Axe the level requirement will increase to level 30.
