IMPORTANT BUT NOT OFFICIAL YET : LADDER SEASON 4 START
Ladder Season 3 will be coming to an end a bit sooner than everybody might have expected.
In a Diablo IV Developer Update Live Stream of April 21st 2023 a few hours ago it was announced that Ladder Season 4 on D2r will start on May 4th.
There are no exact details (or official confirmation) yet, but the rumor of May 4th has been floating around all week.
By the looks of it there will be no PTR for Season 4, so I don't expect anything spectacular on new runewords or other novelties. Probably a patch update with some bug fixes and minor tweaks is to be expected.

Dang. I was hoping they could at least add Stacking and Filter. It takes 1 full day of their team to have it debugged and ready. Bots are inevitable, so why keep restraining such miniscule qol improvements? I mean I can write my own scripts in less than an hour. Detailing it for server/ladder would be easy for a team.
I was upset when i learned the news.As a casual player,i prefer longer seasons.The reason they closed season 3 this early ,is so that season 4 will not coincide with D4 launch.i highly doubt they will add much.Season 3 had very little content.If Blizz had anything new planned,they would be bragging about that new stuff.Since the game has no additional monetization, it will be hard to justify developer time.
True. Consider D2r to be in maintanance mode untill D4 has really and truly kicked off.
Official. Ladder Season 4 will kick off May 4th 5pm Pacific Time.
That is May 5th 1 a.m London, 2 a.m. Berlin, 8 a.m. Taiwan and 9 a.m. Korea.
Ladder reset will be 15 mins prior.
Sneek peak patch update :
every account will get 4 additional character slots online (scl and scnl)
Next Hit Delay is no longer a thing excipt for missiles from the same skill.
This means Strafe etc remains unchanged, but a.o. Nova Sorc, Poison Nova, Phoenix Strike and all the Fire Druid skills no longer suffer from Next Hit Delay.
Hits will continue to land...
