Midwinter Blight is now live!

As the year winds down, Diablo 4 is set to introduce an exciting new holiday event, "Midwinter Blight". The event starts on Tuesday, December 12 at 6:00 PM UTC and runs until Tuesday, January 2 at 6:00 PM UTC.

Storyline

Amidst this chaos emerges a new character, Gileon the Bard. Gileon's mission is noble yet challenging: to uplift the spirits of the inhabitants of Kyovashad, enabling them to band together against a sinister force emanating from the mountainous terrain.

Gileon will send players through the perilous Fractured Peaks to confront the Red Cloaked Horror and its minions. This new adversary has wreaked havoc across the land, erecting monstrous statues and sowing destruction.

14 Different Cosmetics to Unlock

By participating in the Midwinter Blight event, you will have the opportunity to unlock 14 new distinct cosmetic rewards.

First of all, there are 5 unique backpieces to unlock, one for each class.

Additionaly, there are 8 different weapon skins to unlock and 1 Mount Trophy. The Backpiece cosmetic can be purchased from Gileon for [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "misc", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop, the Mount Trophy for [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "misc", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop, and the Weapon Skins for [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "misc", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop each.

Gileon's Brew Elixir

Beyond mere cosmetic upgrades, the event introduces two significant in-game items. The first is a special elixir that boosts experience gains by a whopping 15%. Additionally, this elixir also boosts Max Life and Lucky Hit Chance by 15%.

Gileon's Brew can be purchased from Gileon (surprise) for [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "misc", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop, or can be found from Midwinter Caches.

Shard of Dawn Offensive Aspect

[@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "aspect", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop is a new offensive seasonal Aspect, further diversifying the player's arsenal. this Aspect increases your Attack Speed and Movement speed for 12 seconds. The Shard of Dawn can be bought from Gileon for [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "misc", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop.

Importantly, both the elixir and the seasonal Aspect will remain available to players even after the Midwinter Blight event concludes. However, players can only obtain these items during the event.

If you plan to stock up on this Aspect, make sure to switch to World Tier I or II to get the cheaper version. What is Night's Grasp

Night's Grasp is a status you gain when equiping [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "aspect", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop. It lasts for 30 seconds after which you gain Dawn's Haste for 12 seconds.

When under the effect of the Midwinter Ward, Night's Grasp is reduced by 1 second after each monster you kill.

What is Midwinter Ward

You gain the Midwinter Ward status when activating the totem in Kyovashad. This totem can be activated after leveling up your Midwinter Tribute to Tier III. Midwinter Ward lasts for 60 seconds.

When under the effect of Midwinter's Ward you gain 20% increased damage against Blightfiends and the Red-Cloaked Horror.

How to Obtain the Rewards

During the Midwinter Blight event you will be able to farm 3 types of materials.

The materials can be exchanged for [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "misc", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop, the main currency of the event.

By exchanging these materials for [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "misc", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop, you will increase your Midwinter Tribute Tier. This works similarly to the Hunter's Acclaim Board, which was introduced with the Blood Harvest in Season 2.

When you level you Midwinter Tribute to tier III, you unlock the ability to earn Midwinter Nightmare Caches from Nightmare dungeons. This allows you to farm [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "misc", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop materials from normal gameplay too.

After acquiring enough [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "misc", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop you can head over to Gileon to open the event shop. Gileon sells the Cosmetics, Elixir, Aspect, and Midwinter Caches.

The Red-Cloaked Horror

The Red-Cloaked Horror is the main villain of the event. When you complete the mastery of the Blighted Revelry event, there is a chance for the Red-Cloaked Horror to spawn.

On defeat, you will obtain a [@portabletext/react] Unknown block type "misc", specify a component for it in the `components.types` prop and also acquire a brand new title, "Frigid Reveler".

Secret Goat Level?

While there is no Secret Goat Level, there are secrets to be found in the Midwinter Blight event, so do comment when you find something new!
